Substance Use Screenings & Treatment Placement Long Island Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence (LICADD)
Family & Children’s Association (FCA) and The Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD) entered into a strategic partnership that will consolidate administrative functions, reduce operating expenses and most importantly, create a seamless continuum of care for individuals and families struggling with addiction. Under the new arrangement, LICADD has become an affiliate of FCA. LICADD’s mission is to address the addictive climate of our times by providing initial attention and referral services to individuals, families, and children, through intervention, education and professional guidance to overcome the ravages of alcohol and other drug-related problems. This pioneer not-for-profit agency on Long Island has been on a mission to save lives for over 59 years. Our staff is dedicated to helping individuals, families and members of the workplace prevent or recover from alcoholism and/or other drug addictions. We work to further this mission by being passionately engaged in the following initiatives:
- Get affordable, confidential help
There’s no reason to do this alone. Your road to recovery starts right here, right now.
- Get help for a family member or friend
Addiction impacts the entire family and our proven strategies produce results.
- Get the facts about drugs and alcohol
Helping communities, families and individuals learn more and make healthy decisions.
- Get involved in LICADD’s work
As a nonprofit, LICADD relies on donations, volunteers and community support.
- Get a workshop in your community
LICADD offers educational programs for kids, teens, parents and professionals.
Together, Family & Children’s Association and LICADD now offer a full array of addiction services ranging from school-based prevention programs, to mental health/substance abuse screenings, to brief interventions and NYS-licensed outpatient treatment, to recovery support and relapse prevention. Under the formal agreement, LICADD will retain its identity, its 501(c)3 nonprofit status and existing programs for the foreseeable future.
